Classification / Types

                                • Direct Fire

                                        • Direct fire munitions, sometimes referred to
as target specific, are intended to be fired
                                         directly at a person.

                                        • These munitions are either, non-stabilized
and accurate over short distances, or they are
spin stabilized and accurate of greater
distance (up to as much as 40 yards).

                                           Classification / Types

                                • Indirect Fire Munitions

                                    – Indirect fire munitions are NOT intended to be
directly fired at a person or person’s.
                                        • Skip Firing - the projectiles should be launched so
that they skip 6 - 7 feet in front of the intended
                                         target.
                                        • Low Angle Launch - arching the projectiles into
                                         crowds a greater distance (30 - 100 yards)
                                        • High Angle Launch - “extreme elevation” to bring
the projectiles on top of a crowd that is close to the
                                         field force formation.
