• Target Specific Situations
• Barricade subjects to include “suicide by cop
situations.” - statistics show that the majority of
incidents where specialty impact munitions are
utilized involve suicidal subjects.
• To arrest violent subjects armed with knives or
clubs - impact munitions may be used very
effectively against these subjects.
Deployment Strategies
• To arrest subjects armed with guns presenting
them in a non-threatening manner.
• When afforded ballistic protection and cover, it may
be possible to exploit the use of SIMs
• Specialty Impact Munitions should NEVER be
solely relied upon when an officer’s safety may be
placed in jeopardy!
