Storage and Disposal
• Disposal of these items must be done in
accordance with applicable Federal and/or
state laws.
• Many states have hazardous waste
management programs that are much more
stringent than Federal law. For this reason,
you should check with the EPA Regional
Office to determine to what extent these
laws apply to you.
Safe Handling Procedures
• Shotguns used in the deployment of
specialty impact munitions should “if
possible” be dedicated to that function and
clearly marked.
• Some teams utilize different colored or
marked barrels or different color fore stock.
• A highlighted strip may be placed on the
butt stock of the weapon so only the shooter
knows the munitions used.
