Safe Handling Procedures
• It is the responsibility of the officer in
possession of a dedicated less lethal shotgun
to ensure the presence of strictly specialty
impact munitions - each and every time
possession changes.
Defense Technology Munitions
• The 2 digit number (27A, 37F, 40W)
• All “2” series descriptive codes (27A, 20F, etc)
indicate that the round is a 37mm, black
powder projectile.
• All “3” series descriptive codes (37A, 37F, etc)
indicate that the round is a 37/40mm projectile.
• All “4” series descriptive codes (40A, 40F etc)
indicate that the round is a 40mm smokeless
projectile.
