The Force Continuum
When to use SIMS’s
• The capability to use impact munitions should
always accompany the immediate availability
of deadly force.
• Exploiting multiple tactics simultaneously to
overwhelm a suspect emotionally and
physically should be explored. This may
include OC Aerosols or chemical agents,
distraction devices, checking with shields, and
K-9 sends.
